Hello! Welcome to my WordPress Author’s blog. If you will notice at the top of the page there are two tabs. One is a link to my memoir, “Telling Hands.” I wrote this novella first. It details some of the challenges I faced growing up, unique life experiences, and journey to becoming a writer. I know everyone has a story to tell and this was mine. It started an avalanche of emotions, words, and ideas tumbling out of me. My second book, “More Than Nothing” was written, in part as a challenge to myself. It was written in a completely different genre than I expected to write in and was much darker than I expected to write. It is my first psychological thriller and was, in fact, challenging. The story takes a look at some of the problems in today’s world, how they can be overwhelming, and possible reactions to them. I read Moises Naím’s “End of Power” and was inspired to write about what it feels like during this time for an average person.
F. Scott Fitzgerald, one of my favorite authors, said that “Writers aren’t people exactly. Or, if they’re any good, they’re a whole lot of people trying hard to be just one.”
I feel this way when I am writing. I know I may never be as good as Francis Scott, but when I am writing I am all my characters. They say and feel things I have said, felt, or imagined. I believe that reading is like being in someone else’s dream and writing is living in your own. Some dreams are good and some of them are nightmares. I expect my writing to reflect that. Since I have you here, I’d like to share with you about my latest writing project. It is a unique love story. Writing a romantic story has been easy and fun. It has an unexpected quality to it. I am working to put it all together, and it should be out in a few months. They say you should always write in a way that scares you a little. I can say the first two have definitely scared me, but this last one isn’t scary at all. I’m not so sure if that’s a good sign or a bad one. In either case, I hope you enjoy living in my dreams. I plan on writing several more, getting better each time, and continuing to grow. You can follow me on Twitter or facebook. My books are available at Amazon or Smashwords. This blog-site is going to undergo some changes in the next few days, but I will continue to write to you.
Take care and best wishes always,
